A quieter Maya site an hour from Valladolid — and one of the very few you can still climb. Ninety-five steps up a preserved pyramid, past the famous white-stucco Serpent's Mouth, to the treetop view.
Half-day itinerary
Air-conditioned van, coffee and pan on board. Forty minutes north through cattle land to the site.

Ninety-five steps, at your pace. The White Serpent's Mouth panel is halfway up — best-preserved stucco carving in the Maya world.
A jungle cenote a kilometer from the ruins, reached by bike or golf cart. Rope swings, cold water, hanging vines.
Drop-off downtown by 14:00, in time for tacos at Casa de los Venados or wherever you like.
